Bertha Mae Cline, 83, of New Matamoras died at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday March 9, 2010 at the Monroe County Care Center in Woodsfield, Ohio.
She was born September 4, 1926 in Benton Township, Monroe County, Ohio the daughter of George William and Mary Jane Stacy Hensel. She was a member of the Harmony Hill Baptist Church in Brownsville. She was also a member of the Women's Auxillary V.F.W. Post 6387 in New Matamoras.
She had been employed as a cook by the Washington County Community Action and had also worked for Pool's Grocery and Wrights Restaurant.
She was married to Francis Mearl Cline and he preceded her in death on September 28, 1984.
She is survived by two sons:Thomas Dye Jr. (Debbie) of Trail Run, Ohio and Loren E. Cline (Kay) of Ashland, Ohio. Three daughters: Linda S. Piatt and her Companion Bill McBride of Ashland, Ohio, Nancy L. Dye and Teresa Cline of New Matamoras. Seven grandchildren: Marlene L. Batdorf (Scott), Francis E. Piatt (Virginia), and Richard W. Piatt (Tammy) all of Ashland, Ohio, Stacy T. Dye (Kim) of Clarington, Ohio, Christopher R. Simon (Deanna) of Trail Run, Melissa M. Cline of Ashland, Ohio and Amanda J. Cline of North Carolina. 8 great grandchildren: Brian T. Piatt, Seth A. Batdorf, Jessica K. Piatt, Justin E. Piatt, Mackenzie M. Piatt and Dustin G. Piattt all of Ashland, Ohio, Jeremy S. Dye of Sardis, Ohio, Justin T. Dye of Clarington, Ohio, Kelsey Duke of Newark, Ohio, D,J, Duke of Clarington, Ohio and Cody Ray Simon of Sardis, Ohio. and 3 great great grandchildren: Carley Renee Dye, Brandon Dye and Cayden Dye.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers: James Ralph, Clarence Delbert, William Harold and Henry Edgar Hensel. One sister Goldie Gladys Graham.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday March 13, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hadley Funeral Home in New Matamoras, Ohio with Ron Weber officiating. Burial will be in the Unity Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday March 12 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
